Can you play normal 6-channel audio? With my card I have to use -ao 
alsa:device=hw=0.1 to get this, hw=0.0 accepts only 2-channel, so if I 
put 6-channel data into it, all is 3x slower. And hw=0.2 is again only 
stereo, but at least at the correct speed. You might have to try a bit 
with it...

It's only of matter with videos which do have more audio tracks...
