[MPlayer-users] Compilation Error

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to compile Mplayer using gcc3.3, but I get the following error:

libao2/libao2.a(ao_alsa.o)(.text+0x1bf2): In function `init':
: undefined reference to `snd_pcm_hw_params_set_rate_resample'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [mplayer] Error 1

I have googled this error, but I cannot find a solution for it. Does anyone know what to do? 

Here is some info about the system I'm using:

SuSE 9.3  repackaged by SGI: Propack 4 update 3
kernel: Linux mustang 2.6.5-7.283-rtgfx #1 SMP Thu Jan 4 04:53:30 PST 2007 ia64 ia64 ia64 GNU/Linux
