Hello:

I run a Slackware 11.2 Linux 2.6.20 KDE desktop on a 1.8 GHz Celeron
with 1 gig memory.

I run mplayer 1.0 rc1 in a console to play videos/movies on a
1280x1024 desktop on a GeForce FX5200 128meg video card using
proprietary nVidia drivers.

This setup works perfectly for all AVIs, DVDs and various wmv and mpeg
video formats.

When attempting to play a recent download 'Coyote Ugly.mks',

Cache fill: 10.74% (901120 bytes)
[mkv] Track ID 1: video (V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC), -vid 0
[mkv] Track ID 2: audio (A_AC3), -aid 0, -alang eng

Matroska file format detected.

VO: [xv] 1280x720 => 1280x720 Planar YV12  [fs]

mplayer almost immediately balks. The audio loses sync with the video
and complains about buffers being overloaded.

Too many video packets in the buffer: (333 in 8401465 bytes).
Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?

Is there some problem with the mks container protocol?

Can I convert this format to something a little more useable with mencoder?

Thanks for any feedback.
