[MPlayer-users] Fails to run on xfce4.4.0

xfce4-4.0

mplayer info:

MPlayer 1.0rc1-3.4.6 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team

When I attempt to run either mplayer or gmplayer from within the xfce4
GUI, I receive this error message:

	[ws] Shared Memory Extension Error

If I run it (mplayer) from an xterm window it runs fine.

What should I do to alleviate this problem?
