[MPlayer-users] Help - Gmplayer won't work :(

Thanks, but adding 'vo=gl' or 'vo=x11' into the config file didn't work.

I still get:

Xlib:  extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension" missing on display ":0.0".
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: Connection refused
Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote
control.
Xlib:  extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension" missing on display ":0.0".

However, I installed the SMPlayer GUI and that works fine.

You don't have XV support for some reason, which is the default output
method for MPlayer.  You can try gl or x11, by putting eg. "vo=gl" in
your ~/.mplayer/config _______________________________________________
