Dear All,

1) Encoding DVD-compliant MPEG-2 with the command line (don't laugh at any
options if you feel like it, I'm still empirisising them ;-)) -

mencoder %1 -demuxer +lavf -aspect 4/3 -mc 0 -noskip -vf
hqdn3d=2:1:2,harddup -ovc lavc -oac lavc -lavcopts
aspect=4/3:cbp:cmp=3:dia=2:dc=10:ildct:ilme:keyint=15:last_pred=3:mbd=2:mv0:
mv0_threshold=0:precmp=3:predia=2:preme=2:subcmp=3:trell:vbitrate=7345:%VB_S
TRAT%vcodec=mpeg2video:vmax_b_frames=2:vpass=%PASS%:vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_ma
xrate=9800:vstrict=0:acodec=ac3:abitrate=128 -of mpeg -mpegopts
format=dvd:tsaf -o %OUTPUT%

- with DV AVI input (containing PCM audio of course) mencoder reports:
"Increasing audio density to 4." According to the manual, the default
density is 2 - why would mencoder see fit to increase it?

2) With nothing else out of the ordinary being reported during pass 1, this
was reported during pass 2: "AC EOB missing in frame n". I can find no
references to EOB in the manual. What does this mean and how would one
correct it, if need be?

Thank you kindly,
Francois
