'-nocache' explicitly prevents MPlayer from buffering any data before
playing it back, unless data is arriving faster than it can be played.
The man page does not mention any default value, and I do not remember
seeing one mentioned in the past, so it is possible that the switch will
have no effect by default; however, it can still be useful for
temporarily disabling caching if you have set the '-cache' option in
your config file.
