no, it's a stupid hack, but you are lucky: -demuxer lavf
should do it.
Anyway, I don't see what's so terribly difficult in either
- adding PAT and PMT pids in ~/.mplayer/channels.conf
- or adding pid 8192 in the same file in one of the pids list
as is mentioned in the DOCS.
Writing so much documentation seems to be a waste of time if people
don't read it, but at least it  gives me a chance to hold it
against lazy users :)
