This is over a year old. That will work as well as a wooden wheel on a
Porsche. MPlayer should work fine with even ancient system libraries,
but for all the media libraries only the latest are supported, so if you
want x264 support you'll probably have to build it yourself, too (unless
you use a system that keeps more up-to-date like gentoo or possibly debian
testing).
