[MPlayer-users] dumpstream -> core dump

I'm trying to convert a dvd to an avi file for use on a ps3. The first 
step was to convert the dvd to a vob:

mplayer dvd://1  -msglevel all=7 -dumpstream -dumpfile dvd.vob

Is this actually an error, or just mplayer having difficulty cleaning up 
(no player window came up, should I have expected one?).
