Hello,
Before I posted a problem titled "Cannot use pchdtvr with ubuntu 8.4 with
mplayer, though xine works". People pointed out a few mistakes (it's 8.04
not 8.4). Another mistake is that it isn't pchdtvr, which is software, but
the pchdtv-3000, which is hardware. The main piece of advice though, was
that I should get the latest version and there was a pointer to instructions
at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=558538.
I followed those instructions and it's still pretty much the same result
from my perspective I'm afraid:
I run azap as before, getting:
status 1f | signal b346 | snr 1882 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 |
FE_HAS_LOCK
If I try to just watch with a command like:
mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
MPlayer dev-SVN-r26749-4.2.3 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 430 @ 1.80GHz (Family: 6, Model: 22,
Stepping: 1)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2
Playing /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0.
but I don't see anything.
I also tried:
mplayer -ac hwac3 /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
getting:
MPlayer dev-SVN-r26749-4.2.3 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 430 @ 1.80GHz (Family: 6, Model: 22,
Stepping: 1)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2
Playing /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0.
I tried recording with:
mencoder /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 -ovc copy -oac mp3lame -lameopts cbr:br=64
-endpos 0:0:10 -o test.avi
and got:
MEncoder dev-SVN-r26749-4.2.3 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 430 @ 1.80GHz (Family: 6, Model: 22,
Stepping: 1)
CPUflags: Type: 6 MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2
success: format: 0 data: 0x0 - 0x0
But no recording.
The computer is built up from an intel motherboard with the intel graphics
950 chipset (purchased specifically because that chipset is supposed to be
so well supported in linux.)
