Try mplayer -demuxer lavf your_file. This works for me fine. You 
can use either libschroedinger or libdirac codec. The first one is 
default, it is considerably faster on my box with sample file in 
question.

mplayer-r27673, dirac-0.10.0, schroedinger-1.0.0.
