Thanks for the clear answer. I had pretty much come to the same conclusion. Me 
personally, I couldn't care less about Windows, but the company I work at 
still has a lot of Windows using customers. I'm responsible for some video 
stuff, and thought that mplayer could provide a good crossplatform binary for 
embedding within Java. We don't have any Windows C programmers otherwise we 
would have volunteered the effort for getting the mplayer windows build up-to-
date.
Our current solution will be to use the Windows Media Player active-x control 
from Java+Windows, and mplayer from Java+Linux.
I'm also glad I can now stop working with this damn Windows computer, and go 
back to my Kubuntu box :-)
