don't know if it is necessarily a nvidia bug... xdpyinfo delivers

screen #0:
   print screen:    no
   dimensions:   3360x1050 pixels (644x241 millimeters)
   resolution:   101x101 dots per inch
   depths (7):   24, 1, 4, 8, 15, 16, 32
   ...

So querying via xinerama (there are only two xineramascreens reported)
probably should deliver 1050 as the screen height, though it would be
best if a third xinerama screen was reported with the 1280x720, but it
seems not to be the case here.

Got it working with xinerama disabled in mplayer and -screenw/h and
- -geometry.
