   I rebuilt mplayer with the same switches you used. I get the same
result. The outputs are similar (except I don't have freetype - that
can't matter can it?) except after:

     Filename for url is now http://169.237.101.92:8000/kdvs128.mp3

I get:

     STREAM_ASF, URL: http://169.237.101.92:8000/kdvs128.mp3
     Trying ASF/HTTP...
     Connecting to server 169.237.101.92[169.237.101.92]: 8000...
      ===> ASF/HTTP failed
     Filename for url is now http://169.237.101.92:8000/kdvs128.mp3
     Filename for url is now http://169.237.101.92:8000/kdvs128.mp3
     STREAM_HTTP(2), URL: http://169.237.101.92:8000/kdvs128.mp3
     Connecting to server 169.237.101.92[169.237.101.92]: 8000...

before quitting.

     ASF has to do with fragmented packets. Does mplayer not find the
stream it expects then tries ASF before trying HTTP again then
quitting?
