if you don't wan't to translate by hand anymore run "make" process as 
follows:
env LC_ALL=en_US.UTF8 make
or
env LC_ALL=en_US.UTF8 DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="--mplayer-configure-options" 
fakeroot debian/rules binary
