Ok, cool. I hope DTS-HD will be a feature, as well as all other more
  advanced surround
channels commonly available on disc :)

If anyone knows of a software decoder that decodes DTS-HD, or decodes
  anything beyond
5.1 audio decompression, please let me know! :) I couldn't find
  anything as far as plug-ins,
so I am presuming Carlos is correct and nothing beyond 5.1 playback,
  as far as plug-ins
exists, or has been ever attempted, or on the radar.

I think it would be great to have options for this kind of audio
  playback over MPLAYER,
whereas new movies can be enjoyed in full specturm audio, instead of
  truncated audio, such
  as 5.1 .... vs 6.1/7.1/HD-DTS. ;) $99 motherboards have 7.1 audio, so
  this is the 21st
century folks, lets get mplayer back on track and hte leader again!

Have a great day and thank you for information, and considerations.

  martha :)
