Checked the BIOS. Nohing about video memory.  FWIW, I recorded last 
night an hour that replayed (using alsa:device=hw=0.3) with zero 
dropped frames.

I will be uploading test_episode_1602_1280x720_60hz_ts.mpeg2 tonight. 
This is a one minute clip that exhibits dropped frames when replayed 
here. It's not the same as the 5 minute clip I used earlier; I'm on 
satellite, and bot upload speeds ane quota are modest by current 
standards.
