Am I correct that xvmc is only for mpeg-2 - so it is not available for 
x264 videos?

I haven't been able to get vidix to work at all.  I am compiling from 
the daily source version, and I do see vidix enabled during the 
configure run.  During mplayer execution it shows an error when I 
specify vidix.

I am running KDE 4.2, which does have compositing.  Does this pose a 
problem?
