To repeat a few details:
Only yadif makes sense, the other de-interlacers are only there for historic
reasons, only on very slow hardware you could try kerndeint.
If you are using Nvidia hardware (and the binary drivers), use -vo vdpau:deint=2
(or press "D"): Imo, this is more useful than the (so well media-covered)
hardware-accelerated decoding.
For yadif, you can choose if the frame-rate gets doubled or not, please try both
to compare: Results depend on the frame-rate of your screen and the original
video.
One last thing: If you consider to re-encode, try mcdeint, it is never real-time
for real videos (iirc), but might show superior results over everything else (I
admit I never tested).
