[MPlayer-users] dvdnav not playing titles that worked previously anymore

Couldn't think of a better thread title...

I got a DVD "The Producers" from Sony (German RC2), which initially was
my first with the ARccOS copy protections back in 2006.
I then found out that using dvdnav:// instead of dvd://, I could play
the movie (dvd:// does not work, as some sectors marked as defective are
in the way).

It's now 4 years later, and upon trying to watch the movie again,
playing title one now jumps back to the last few frames of another title
and begins then with the normal movie, but with great audio/video
difference (the few frames of the other title at the beginning already
have the sound of the starting logo).

I also cannot use fast forward/backward, because I always return to the
starting position at the initial point (from the other title).

If I dump the stream, the resulting stream.dump plays without problems:
I can seek, and no erroneous titles are preceding the normal video.

The issue with seeking exists in a lot of other titles where I cannot
seek forward for 10seconds or 1 minute, but mplayer always seems to
return to a specific point which is constant for approximately every 5
minutes or more... This means if I press 'forward' between minute 0 and
minute 5, I always get to position x, if I press 'forward' between
minute 5 and 10 I always get to position y, and so on.

I saw something about a patch for dvdnav:// where seeking should work
more reliable, but there's nothing new in the SVN this far.

Another question is: why is -dumpstream's result different from normal
playback? With my Transformers 2 DVD I don't get the same results and on
chapter breaks (which are branching on this special DVD) I get wrong
jumps and pixelated images up to the next keyframe (at least I think so).
