Try -cache 8192 (or more).

You don't say what sort of network you have. From experience of using 
UDP for SD TV on a wired 100m eth LAN, I can say that even the slightest 
packet loss will mess things up.

If you see loss when doing a ping -f -s 1400 then you need to un/re plug 
connectors in the hope of improving things. If you aren't using a wired 
LAN then it probably just won't work with UDP.
