Why must you change the default behaviour? It's very not nice, really.
The whole point why I signed up to this mailing list was because someone
made a bug that changed how -monitoraspect works.

While I know some hardcore guys using MPlayer on Windows, I'm really not
sure if there's much point in that:
1) I haven't used that new PowerShell thingy but their old shell was
purified *pain* and as such using CLI programs in Windows was very
frustrating, if you were used to bash
2) with cygwin it should be possible to use regular *nix tools, like,
grep and decent shell scripting
3) in my very humble opinion, there are probably better options for
Windows platform, say, Combined Community Codec Pack or CCCP for short
