[MPlayer-users] Feature request : Autoselect for -vc ff???vdpau for -vo vdpau

Hi,

First of all, thank you for the VDPAU addition in mplayer. I am using
it most of the time. 

IMHO, it might be convinience if the -vc ff???vdpau is automatically
detected and selected when we use the '-vo vdpau'. It is very useful
when playing several video clips with different codecs.

Currently, I use

 $ mplayer -vc ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffodivxvdpau,ffwmv3vdpau, \
movie1.mp4 movie2.wmv movie3.mkv ....

Since mplayer can automatically detect and select audio video codecs,
why not the same implemnetation to '-vo vdpau'. This make thing much simpler.

Example:

$ mplayer -vo vdpau movie1.mp4 movie2.wmv movie3.mkv ....

If mplayer  cannot find suitable ff???vdpau codecs. then it
automatically switch to normal sw decoding.
