You need to show what mplayer says when you run it and it does not
display in full screen.
Also, why are you using nouveau instead of nvidia-driver?
nvidia-driver is much faster, better supported and has less bugs - the
only down side is that its not open source. If you just want it 'to
work', use x11/nvidia-driver
