Of course it is, but I think there is no up-to-date binutils for OS X.

It may have worked if you in some way compiled an MPlayer version
without optimized CABAC assembler functions - I think those are the only
ones requiring the feature that is tested. I don't think that should
ever happen though.
You can always comment out the check, but in most cases it will just
fail to compile later on.
Are you _sure_ it was a 64-bit compile before? Because I think others
noticed it had worked with older Xcode versions, but I am quite
convinced that was only because they did not default to 64-bit and they
thus compiled 32-bit binaries.
