Downloaded the source twice yesterday from GIT:
git clone git://git.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer

Tried this workaround suggested in from IRC Chat.

00:50 <spaam> do this: rm -rf ffmpeg
00:50 <spaam> git clone git://git.videolan.org/ffmpeg.git
00:50 <spaam> cd ffmpeg
00:51 <spaam> forget that cd ffmpeg part
00:51 <MingCho> ok
00:51 <spaam> run ./configure
00:51 <spaam> with your arguments.
00:51 <spaam> then cd ffmpeg
00:51 <spaam> git checkout 75abcdb3915e3abb2dc6b5f7d101c177dcfdb626
00:51 <spaam> cd ..
00:51 <spaam> make

same result.

Not trying to ask for support on this error, just wanted point it out
and that at least one other person has encountered it with the SVN
from GIT.
