Thanks.  It's just I normally use mplayer for everything.  But totem
seems to work so can use that instead. Don't look into anything on my
account, thought I was vaughly filing a bug report.

Hit left or right arrow keys and it jumps, runs for a second and then
stops.  Press again and it does the same thing.  Occasionally it works
properly, but then subsequent use of these keys will usually revert to
the problem.

In following session bug occurred several times:
