Oops should have checked it myself I suppose.

It's working fine here, too--returns the latest dvdnav/dvd NAV
timestamp, even including the fraction:
ANS_stream_time_pos=1833.566650

Sorry for the noise.
Now if I could just convince the smplayer folks to use it now...
