Oh well, please scratch that. Even if the visual impression with -ao
alsa was sometimes better than with other audio outputs, the A-V offset
still oscillates with peaks 2-3 times a second reaching 0.3 while with
standard definition channels it stays almost always below 0.01. These
A-V offset peaks are responsible for video judder.

The choice for now is perfect sound with juddering video /or/ perfectly
smooth video with -nosound. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
