   but on the next line you have:
      built on Dec 29 2011 08:28:41 with gcc 4.4.5

after upgrading from the debian multimedia repo, I have

     ffmpeg version 0.7.11, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the FFmpeg developers
     built on Jan 28 2012 01:15:36 with gcc 4.4.5

   It seems that the copyright info has nothing to do
   with the development status.

the problem remains with that version
