   Do you mean that 0.7.11 corresponds to July 2011?
   That doesn't fit with the version names I see in the Changelog:

     version next (???)
     version 0.10
     version 0.9
     ....
     version 0.4.8
     version 0.4.7

   Clearly, the last number is not the year.
   I have no idea of the periodicity of new versions releases, but
   actually, 0.7 seems old compared to 0.10
   For the version I compiled, the name is rather cryptic
      ffmpeg version N-37669-gf2b20b7
   Is it an alias for "next" ?

   Anyway, you were right: after compiling the version from git, the problem
   disappeared.
