[MPlayer-users] Why is mplayer ~2 sec. to skip to next movie with audio?

Dear readers,

When I play movies with audio and e.g. do

/usr/bin/mplayer 1.mkv 2.mkv

and press return while 1.mkv plays, then there is a 2-3 sec. delay
before 2.mkv starts.

It only happens if the movies have audio in them.

If I use -nosound then the next movie starts right away.

Does anyone know how to avoid this start up delay?
