No problems compiling. 32-bit and 64-bit.

I'm wondering how can I generate the single html documentation.
In the past the steps were:
  cd DOCS/xml
  make html-single-en
but at some point the Makefile in DOCS/xml has disappeared
and I haven't found anywere a description on how to
generate the html documentation.

I really don't see any point in creating bz2 tarball anymore.
xz format takes less space and decompress faster compared to bz2.
I would suggest to make a gz tarball for backward compatibility and
xz for better compression.
Several projects are not releasing bz2 tarball anymore (vlc, ogg, vorbis, etc).
