A more detailed bug report would be useful.
Depending on you definition of "crashes" that might clearly be a bug.
Or it might just be that seeking doesn't quite work right and it ends up
jumping beyond the end of the file.
-demuxer lavf might help with seeking issues.
Note that for rtmp, using the "rtmpdump" program is likely to produce
better results than plain -dumpstream.
