OK, so if I throw just "FFmpeg decoder with reference postfilter" and
"FFmpeg decoder with my postfilter" on you, does that help? I really
should include "FFmpeg decoder without postfilter" at the very least,
even if that one is not blind, as a "baseline".

I don't have an encoder handy, so it's difficult to do a test as you
propose. Quicktime's encoder package is not free, afaik. Also, a
pointer to a high-quality source sample would be useful.
