That doesn't make any sense. Not even in teh slightest

A user running:

./ffmpeg -v repeat -i matrixbench_mpeg2.mpg -f null -

does NOT have a "previous" value. That makes no sense. You can't
describe that behavior as "previous value" by any stretch of the
English language.
