Maybe add --with-win32libdir=/path/to/windlls to your configure.  Since this isn't being set otherwise due to forcing win32 enabled.  The other option is setting it manually AFTER ./configure in config.mak file.

Good luck, I never got the patches, so I can't test it myself.  If anyone would be so kind to forward it to me, I would be appreciative! :) (Had a problem and couldn't clear my mailbox over the weekend, sorry if any errors leaked back to the ml!)
