[MPlayer-dev-eng] New feature for subtitles, can someone help?

A while ago I posted to this list discussing a mod I would like to make to 
the subtitles section of mplayer. A quick summary is this: I let the program 
scan the subtitles stream and mute the audio based on a list of keywords.
I am having trouble following the code, and have not found much in the way 
of documentation. Could someone who is familiar with the subtitle handling 
help push me in the right direction? Which section of the code should I be 
looking at to acomplish this? Is there someplace where the current subtitle 
is represented as a text string that could be used for comparison? I would 
greatly appreciate any advice people might have to offer. Thanks in advance.
