[MPlayer-dev-eng] A/V sync, How does mplayer do it?

Hi,

I'm writing a very simple media player using an embedded system 
without the use of an operating system.
I was wondering how mplayer keeps the video and audio syncronised 
during playback.

Presently i am starting video playback and audio playback at the same 
time, but as you can imagine it looses sync if i try and do a seek 
etc...
