Now first of all performance problems. Then it is not well tested.
But most importantly, sooner or later you will end up with a combination
of libavcodec and some program that uses it (e.g. MPlayer) that will not
work, report a bug, cause the developers to search for it and when they
finally find out the reason they will be very annoyed :-P
