You'd better send it to the list as other folks are also interested.

1) CPU: K6-2/575 (i.e. a K6-2/550 running with FSB at 105 Mhz to make a
positive answer for Question Nr. 8 possible)
2) Graphics: ATI Xpert98 8 MB (with gatos and Xfree 4.0.3)
3) "best" video output (-vo) : xv

4) small MPEG (e.g. 320x240): yes, fs
5) DVD/VOB (e.g. 720x576): don't know

6) small DivX (like 320x240, 600kbps): yes, fs
7) fullsize-medium DivX (720x576, 906kpbs): yes, fs, with 10% framedrop
8) fullsizes DivX (e.g. 704x416, 1507kbps): yes, fs, no framedrop but
A-V sync is not perfect in fast scenes.

I compiled mplayer with divx4linux support. 7 and 8 are only possible
when I chose "-vc odivx" the other decoders are to slow.

BTW: What would I gain from buying a better grafics card? Is it possible
to find out the bottleneck which slows down number 7?

Bye

- Konrad
