Ok, that was just dumb. The webpage states that installing Lame from source is OPTIONAL. Once I grabbed the latest source tarball, and installed it. make mencoder worked fine. You guys might want to revise the webpage / configure / make scripts... Thanks, and hope this helps someone else! -- Scott
