[MPlayer-users] Intel 815 chipset

Hi,

I posted this message a while ago, but didn't recieve a response,
so I thought I'd try again. I'm using the latest CVS snapshot
(20011226) and getting some whacky problems trying to play mpegs.

The machine is a notebook with integrated Intel 815 video controller
and sound controller, running Debian testing \w kernel 2.4.14. When
I try to use -vo xv, mplayer gives me a bluescreen with perfect
audio, but no image.

Using -vo x11, I get an image which is very slow, but the audio
playback is fine. After about 30 seconds, it complains that my
machine is too slow to play this file, with some information about
a possible buggy audio driver. If I unload the audio driver from the
kernel, the video plays fine, but I obviously get no sound. Does
anyone know of any issues with the i810 sound driver in the kernel?
Could this be what's causing the problem?

If I then use -vo aa, the whole movie plays perfectly, audio and
video in sync, and without mplayer complaining that my machine is
too slow. Mplayer-5.0pre3 and the CVS about a month ago used to
complain that my machine was too slow with -vo aa.

Is there any known issues with this chipset or the sound controller?
Any help would be appreciated. I've read the docs on your site
and searched the mailing lists extensively, but have failed to
uncover anything related. Please find relevant info below, and
mplayer/lspci output attached.
