Well, at least it sort of confirms, that it might be more hardware, than
software related. I thought, you could have same / almost the same
hardware... The chipset is different (I've got VIA's KT133...), using
2.4.16 (tried with other 2.4 kernels too). But I've got DMA enabled,
32-bit support on, unmasked IRQs... Could you tell me what make your
DVD-drive is? And what kernel you are running? Is it connected to
/dev/hdc? BTW, my drive is hidden, so I can't easily check - are there any
relevant jumpers on dvd-drives usually?
