I read it in the ChangeLog of XFree-CVS... a bug that switched of graphics 
port on Radeon VE...

Take a faster mirror, there are tons of those. 

ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distributions/suse  is very good for me :-) 

Many german universities have mirrors on faster connections, too.
