Currently there is only support for thr SSE instructions on PIII, P4 and
Celeron II (including newer mobile Celerons), but there might be support for
sse in the upcoming AMD K8, the predecessor of the K7 (Athlon). However AMDs
3DNow! Technology (introduced with the K6-2) does about the same as SSE
working on 2 instead of 4 single precision floats, but it uses the mmx
registers (which really are the FPU registers), whereas SSE uses a new,
independent register set.
