There is no problems with gcc 3.0.
The problem is ONLY with that 2.96 version in standard redhat 7.1 distro.
This is why we force users to up/downgrade their gcc, because it's known
to be buggy. It has serious problems with inline asm code.
Ok, I understand that bitchx and pine compiles and works with it, but
mplayer, avifile, DRI and some other high-optimized stuff won't work.
