Well, I experienced such thing once or twice.

You know it just happened that during (2-3) minutes of playback, the a-v
was out of sync by 1-1,5 sec. I encountered this after fast-forwarding through
for eg. 45minutes of movie and then playing. But I never again could reproduce
it, and it was solved by quitting mplayer and starting it again.
