Has this happened to xine and vlc since they made it into distributions
(not based on other errors they have...)

Please, there's no need to yell. That only makes you look silly. Mplayer
fits my needs perfectly, because I am capable of compiling it myself,
but others are not able to do that. But I accept that you do not want to
support them.
